Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

1. Be Prompt!
  • Arrive to class on time.
  • Be in your seat when the tardy bell rings.
  • Have homework out and ready to be checked at the beginning of class.
  • Use breaks responsibly and return promptly from breaks, restroom, assemblies, etc.

2. Be Prepared!

  • Bring all required materials to class (Organized Spanish notebook, agenda, pen/pencil, paper, homework).
  • Have materials ready.
  • Complete assignments and turn work in on time.
  • Be excited and mentally ready to learn.

3. Be Polite!

  • Show respect to teacher, to classmates, and to yourself.
  • Use manners.
  • Wait until the other person is finished speaking before you speak.
  • Follow directions the first time they are given.
  • Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
  • Be silent during announcements.
  • Leave other people's things alone.
  • Behave appropriately.
  • Accept the consequences of your actions without arguing.

4. Be Positive!

  • Come to class with a good attitude.
  • If you come to class positive and in a good mood, others will also be in a good mood.  But if you are negative, you will bring others down.

5. Participate!

  • Sit straight up, eyes on me, answer questions correctly, make relevant comments, and listen.
  • If you don't understand something, LET ME KNOW!
  • If you can't concentrate or do not understand, let me know and we will come up with a solution. Complaining to your classmates does NOT solve anything.
  • Speak Spanish during Spanish time.
  • Use time wisely.
  • Stay in your seat unless given permission.
  • Complete quality work.
  • Give best effort.

Consequences

1. Warning
2. Writing Assignment
3. Silent Lunch
4. ICU or Buddy Teacher
5. After School Detention
6. Office Referral

Or any other consequences I see fit.

Failure to complete writing assignment or silent lunch will result in after school detention.

Failure to show up for after school detention will result in an office referral.

Conduct Grade

I use a system of conduct checks to determine students’ conduct grades. You will receive conduct checks for any inappropriate behavior, disrespect to anyone, tardies, and for not being prepared for class. These are NOT negotiable. Your conduct grade for each 6 weeks will be based on the number of conduct checks earned during that 6 weeks.

0 checks = Outstanding

1-3 checks = Satisfactory

4-5 checks = Needs Improvement

6+ checks = Unsatisfactory
